| Description: In the non-stressed condition, when protein synthesis is plentiful, the ATF5 mRNA was associated with fewer ribosomes, as compared with the large polysomes associated with actin mRNA. In response to ER stress, ATF5 mRNA was readily detected in the larger polysome fractions, consistent with the idea that ATF5 mRNA was bound to multiple ribosomes and was more efficiently translated. | |||
