| Description: However, and as depicted in Figure 4 (Cytosol), mRNAs encoding GAPDH and LDH were present in both free and membrane-bound polysomes, and mRNAs encoding Hsp90 displayed a high enrichment in the membrane-bound fraction (75%-97%). Such partitioning of mRNAs to the ER was observed in 15 independent experiments using ER derived from Jurkat and J558 cells alike, thus confirming that mRNAs encoding signal-sequence-bearing proteins and mRNAs encoding cytosolic proteins are present on the ER. | |||
